UNDP Yemen: Aden Port
At the port of #Aden a transformative project is underway. With generous funding from the Governoment of Japan, UNDP is rehabilitating two critical transit sheds. These sheds, once bustling hubs for safe storage, now lie in ruins, impacting the delivering of essential supplies.
Imported goods are relocated to distant warehouses, adding costs and straining logistics.
UNDP and Japan are restoring sheds, improving efficiency, and reducing costs. Once complete, the sheds will expedite processes, benefiting import and export activities in Aden.
To further enhance the efficiency of the port, UNDP will procure handheld communication devices for the digitalization of the Aden Container Terminal (ACT).
This project ensures prompt delivery of aid and goods to the Yemeni population, minimizing costs and reshaping the future of the Port of Aden.
