UNDP Yemen: Reclaiming Al-Gharegah Village farmlands: A Story of Water, Land, and Hope
١٩ أبريل ٢٠٢٦
After decades of drought and the collapse of vital irrigation network, the farmers of Al-Gharegah Village in Lahj, Yemen, are finally seeing their fields turn green again. This video explores the transformative impact of a 360-meter massive irrigation canal constructed through the @WorldBankGroup-funded Food Security Response and Resilience Project (#FSRRP) in partnership with @SFDYemen.
By restoring access to water for 110 hectares of farmland, the project has not only supported 280 local farmers but also created 395 temporary jobs, boosting the local economy and restoring a sense of dignity to the community. Watch how local solutions are building long-term #ClimateResilience and #FoodSecurity in #Yemen. @UNDPYemen
