Message by the UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen Julien Harneis on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan

On behalf of the United Nations family in Yemen, I extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes to all Yemenis as we welcome this blessed month.
Ramadan is a month of worship and drawing closer to "Allah", renewing hope, and holding fast to the noble values of Islam — foremost among them compassion, generosity, solidarity, and caring for others, especially those most in need.
In this blessed month of fasting and sacrifice, we pay tribute to the Yemeni people for their extraordinary patience, resilience, and determination to rebuild and move forward.
At a time when Yemen continues to face profound challenges, let us draw strength from the values of Ramadan and allow them to guide our actions.
On this blessed occasion, we reaffirm the United Nations’ commitment to serve all those in need, wherever they are in Yemen, and to work hand in hand with the Yemeni people as they rebuild their lives and strive for a better future.
As this holy month begins, we also remember our detained colleagues and fellow humanitarians who spend yet another Ramadan away from their loved ones, and we renew our call for their immediate release.
May this Ramadan bring your peace, health and prosperity.
